Join us for an evening of dinner and dancing with the Sandhills Stars!

Local leaders in the community will compete for your vote on the dance floor to raise awareness of mentoring and the impact it has on helping children reach their potential and become successful in school and in life. This evening of dining, dancing and FUN will benefit our two mentoring programs – Communities In Schools and Moore Buddies. Both are local non-profit United Way agencies and are vital to the welfare of young people who are in need of a little extra help to succeed, stay in school and be better prepared for life.
Community leaders including DR. SUSAN PURSER, Superintendent of Moore County Schools; MAUREEN KRUEGER, District Attorney; KRISTIN PALMER & RICH RUSHFORTH, of 102.5 radio; SENATOR HARRIS BLAKE, PAT MCCOWAN and CATHY SMITH; PATRICK COUGHLIN, Chamber of Commerce; DR. JEFFERSON KILPATRICK and many others will entertain in a high-stepping show Emceed by JIM DODSON, Editor of Pinestraw Magazine. He will be aided by such impartial and objective judges like GRADY LITTLE, of baseball fame and JOHN DEMPSEY, Sandhills Community College. Guests will enjoy cocktails and dinner and an opportunity to vote for their favorite dancer – the contest is not based on dancing expertise or training. It is, instead, the only contest that can be won by buying votes!
